My name is Andrea and I named this blog after our daughter, Maia. When we chose her name, our neighbors told us about the German story, "Die Biene Maja" (or, in English, "Maya the Bee.") The nickname has stuck and we call her "Bee" or "Biene" on a daily basis!
We are a military family - my husband is Active Duty in the United States Army. We have been stationed in Germany since 2007 but are currently preparing for yet another move, this time to the States! (You can read about it HERE.)
Maia was born here in Germany and suffered from severe acid reflux until she was about seven months old. (I wrote about her struggles HERE and HERE.) She's now a silly, happy-go-lucky little girl who we refer to affectionately as: The Joker. (You can see her true colors HERE and HERE and HERE for starters!)
I am a Kindergarten teacher turned work-at-home-mom. I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor and love using safe, non-toxic products in our home. (You can read about how I started my business HERE.) I am also on a quest to lose weight. You can see my before and afters HERE.
