As you may know, we're down to our last few days in Germany. Tomorrow we will head down to Munich to spend the night before our big flight to the States.
Before we go, I wanted to share the going away gifts that were given to us by our neighbors. They are so sweet and we're really going to miss them.
These are beer mugs. The one on the left is mine. It's smaller - only a 1/2 liter. The one on the right is called a Mass - it's a full liter for my husband.
They are very traditional and we are so excited about them! Although we'll no longer be able to fill them with amazing German beer. they are perfect reminders of our stay in Germany and the friendship that formed.
Maia also received a gift - not a beer mug though!! Her gift includes a beautiful princess!!
This is a porcelain set made in Germany. It's gorgeous and Maia adores it! I can't wait to get to our new house so we can display it in her room!
We were so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors. My German improved substantially with Christine's help and Hans was always willing to lend us tools when we needed one. We're going to miss them so much - especially Maia who was always checking out the window for Hans. She loved to wave and say hi when he was working in the yard.
We move an awful lot in the military, but we have been so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors each and every time. It will be interesting to meet our new neighbors in Rhode Island.
