From "Ree" to You: Open For Business!

My Mom's Etsy shop is officially open for business!

My mom, Marie (or "Ree" as we all affectionately call her!) is an incredibly talented and creative individual who focuses mainly on sewing and quilting.  She makes high quality totes bags, wine totes, iPad cases, and more!  She also accepts custom orders, so feel free to email her with a special request.

She and I have been working to create her shop for some time now.  She has displayed and sold her products at local craft fairs and markets, but is now ready for the world of Etsy!

I'd love for you to visit her shop and take a look around!  Here's a little preview of what you'll find!

These are quilted bags in different sizes.  Both the daisy bags and the orange floral bags are shown from back to front: large, medium, and small.  Each has a flat bottom so they stand on their own.  No worrying about everything inside pouring out if you set it down!  They are made with 100% cotton and quilted with interfacing to give them more stability.  They're great for cosmetics, traveling, diaper bags…you name it!!

I have a set that she made for me last year.  I use the large bag for traveling and store any travel size bottles or items in it when we're not on-the-go.  The medium bag is in my bathroom at all times.  It holds all of my makeup and can easily be zipped up and taken with me whenever we head out of town.  The small bag has always been in Maia's diaper bag.  There's a thermometer, Q-tips, nail file, a cosmetic mirror, and tweezer in it.  I also used to keep a pill cutter and Maia's medication in there when she was taking PrevAcid.  Even with all those things, there's still room to spare!  It's a great little bag!

The next set is super cute too.  They are shown back to front: large, medium, and pencil case.  The pencil case is my FAVORITE!!  It can hold the obvious…pencils, pens, erasers, markers.  It would be a great little case for your favorite child!  (Ask Ree…she can make them in kid prints too!)

I actually use the pencil case to carry tampons.  It's a great way to be discrete!  They fit perfectly inside - I carry about 5 or six tampons at a time!  Plus, the pencil case is flat and doesn't take up a lot of room in my purse.  It's a win-win!

This is an Origami bag.  See how it looks like it's folded in pieces?  It's a great little bag with a drawstring.  I use one in my classroom to hold all of my magnetic alphabet letters.  It keeps them altogether and I could either store them on a shelf or hang the bag on a hook.  It's perfect!

Ree made Maia her own Origami bag.  Maia always wants to carry around my big tote bag, but she ends up dragging it, stepping on it, and falling down.  Now she has a kid-sized bag to put her toys in and it's never too bulky for her to manage!  It's made with kid-friendly material too…just ask Ree if you want something specific.  She's great like that!

This is a wine tote.  I love, love, love it!!  I have one that I use as a display piece on my kitchen windowsill.  She makes them in all different colors and patterns!  Think of how much money you spend on a gift bag for a bottle of wine!  They're at least $5 and they get thrown away as soon as the guests leave.  It's such a waste of money…not to mention what you're doing to the environment!  These totes can be used when giving a bottle of wine and used to display (like I do!) or given to the next friend!  I just think they're the cutest!

This last item is so stinking CUTE!  It's a crayon roll and can hold up to 24 crayons!!  This eliminates the stress of going out to eat or waiting in a waiting room.  Simply put some crayons in, roll it up, and tie it closed with the ribbon!  It fits perfectly in your purse or diaper bag…or even in your child's Origami bag!  Bring along a notepad and your child will be occupied (and you can relax!)

See how cute the material is?!?  What kid wouldn't love an Elmo and Cookie Monster crayon roll??  I know Maia would LOVE one... (hint, hint) :)

The best part about my Mom is that she makes everything as if it's for herself.  She spends a lot of time on everything she makes and would never give anyone an item that wasn't made perfectly.  I know buying something you can't touch and examine for yourself can be scary, but I guarantee you won't find anything wrong with something you purchase from From "Ree" to You.

Check out her Etsy shop and take a look!  Be sure to contact her if you'd like something created especially for you.  A custom order can always be arranged!

Surprise someone you know with a handmade gift…or keep it for yourself!!  (Don't worry, I won't tell!)
